i-ESG Expands Collaboration with Global Sustainability Initiatives And International Development Finance Institutions
From closing ESG data gaps in emerging markets to AI-powered sustainability assessment, i-ESG strengthens its role as global ESG data infrastructure
SINGAPORE, SINGAPORE, SINGAPORE, September 22, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- ----------● Jointly operating an AI-powered sustainability assessment platform with a global sustainability initiative
● Exploring collaboration with the international development finance community to close ESG data gaps in emerging markets
● One data system from collection to AI analysis and disclosure, delivering ESG data traceable to its source
i-ESG (CEO Bell Jongwoong Kim), an ESG-specialized data intelligence platform company, today announced that it is expanding its collaboration with international development finance institutions and global sustainability initiatives, broadening its role as a global ESG data infrastructure company.
i-ESG jointly operates an AI-powered sustainability assessment platform with a global sustainability initiative and, in international development finance, is exploring ways to collaborate on closing ESG data gaps in emerging markets. The shared goal is to help companies and financial institutions secure ESG data they can trust.
The expansion comes as sustainable finance continues to grow. With ISSB-based disclosure spreading across jurisdictions and regulations such as the EU's Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) tightening, international organizations and financial institutions are looking beyond ESG figures themselves to whether those figures can be traced and verified. Yet many companies, particularly in emerging markets, still lack the basic foundation to collect and manage ESG data systematically.
i-ESG addresses this problem with technology. The company standardizes complex global regulatory and benchmark databases, resources most companies cannot manage on their own, through its proprietary patented technology, and connects ESG data collection and management, AI analysis, and disclosure within a single data system. Building on its own data and AI patents, i-ESG analyzes data free of AI hallucination and greenwashing, and links every finding to the source document and page behind it so users can verify the results themselves.
i-ESG is a solution partner of the UN Global Compact (UNGC), with which it co-launched an AI-powered sustainability assessment platform. Built on the annual Communication on Progress (CoP) that participating companies submit, the platform uses AI to diagnose gaps against global benchmarks and recommend prioritized improvement actions and an implementation roadmap. In August, CEO Bell (Jongwoong) Kim spoke at Forward Faster Now | APAC 2026, the UNGC's Asia-Pacific regional event in Colombo, Sri Lanka, presenting cases of AI-powered ESG decision-making.
In international development finance, i-ESG is focusing on the ESG data shortages facing companies and financial institutions in emerging markets. Without reliable data, sustainability-related capital struggles to reach where it is needed most. i-ESG previously won the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Challenge in the Supply Chain Digitalization category, earning recognition for its technology in this field.
i-ESG also participates regularly in global stages such as CES and GITEX and is expanding into global markets through its entities in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and Singapore. In Abu Dhabi, the company is preparing pilot projects with local government-affiliated organizations and state-owned enterprises, and in Europe, it is in discussions with a certification body for ESG and impact finance products on applying its AI analysis tools.
"When international organizations and financial institutions look at ESG data, the first question they ask is, 'Can we trust this number?'" said Bell (Jongwoong) Kim, CEO of i-ESG. "Building a structure in which the evidence trail never breaks, from data collection all the way to disclosure, is what has allowed us to work alongside global institutions. Under our mission, 'For All Actions Sustainable,' we will expand our support together with international development finance institutions and global sustainability initiatives, so that even companies in emerging markets with limited data foundations can access sustainable finance."
